Brest remains also this year one of the promotion contender. Even they lost a lot of good players ( GK Thebeaux, Courtet, Laborde, Moimbe, Khaled, Ramare, Toure and Traore most of them playing a lot in last season) the team is quite leveled and strong enough at least in defence. They are coming after a 0-0 away at Auxerre being more dangerous than Auxerre who didn't had any real goal opportunity. Ex- Lille new signing Koubemba is suspended also Perez. They are good enough upfront and perhaps we will see goals in this round for them.
On the other side Nimes will have a difficult season. Being punished with 8 points (due to fix games scandal - remember 2 seasons ago) they are happy to play in L2 after being relegated by FFF in National, but wining at appeal with one round to go in previous season. So now they must cope with this deduction and try to survive. But in my opinion will be very very difficult to survive. Some players left the team (Parpeix, Omrani, Kovacevic, Nouri) other come but most of them from lower league or L2 relegated teams and I rate them weakened than last season.
In first round of course 0-0 at home against relegated Evian, but over all being the positive squad in the game.
Will be difficult for Pasquelletti squad against Brest, who will try to win their first game in front of their fans. I see a home win but for this competition I'll go for home win at nil. gl
