AZ Alkmaar vs Partizan

AZ Alkmaar didn’t who anything impressive in Europa League group stage for now with the exception of their home victory over Athletic Bilbao 2:1 in the second round, but even so, the team still has a chance of clinching the knockout stage spot – however, to obtain the first two positions, they will need to get a victory against current Serbian champions Partizan that won over the Dutch side 3:2 in the first round.

After that victory and a defeat at home against Bilbao, the team suffered two defeats from Augsburg which puts them in quite delicate situation – they will need to get a victory here, but then only to look for another one, against Athetic Bilbao in Spain, something that at this moment seems even harder to do. On the other side, AZ Alkmaar didn’t start that well in the domestic league as well, with the team being for long near the relegation zone, but have improved in previous couple of weeks and now are at ninth position with eighteen points – only three points below the play-off placed sides. Defenders Van der Linden (11/0), Haps (11/0) and Lewis (1/0) will miss the game, as well as very experienced forward El Hamdaoui (3/1).



With two victories and two defeats, Partizan still has a chance of progressing to the next round, but most likely, they will need to get something out this game (victory) since the team awaits German side Augsburg in the last round, side that is slowly getting into the right form and with two consecutive victories in Europa League, they do show clear intention to try and play Europa League next Spring.

Guests continue to have problems at the back, as they can’t count at central defenders Balazic (10/1) and Ostojic (7/0), left full back Fabrizio (11/0), but also midfielders Stevanovic (8/2) and forward Trujic (8/2), all being sidelined.

AZ Alkmaar will need to attack in this one and search for a victory. I believe they are closer to get it, especially since we have seen plenty of defensive gaps in Partizan’s defense. However, the Serbian side also has some decent potential upfront and can’t be overwritten just like that. Over 2.5 goals seems to be much safer option.

Botev Plovdiv vs Pirin Blagoevgrad

Botev continues to struggle, as the hosts have won only three points from the last five rounds (1-0-4 3/7).


However, Botev is a team with enough potential at least for a place in the middle of the standings in this league and what is also important to be noted: the hosts had really difficult schedule in the previous five rounds (0-2 vs. Litex, 1-2 vs. Ludogorets, 0-1 vs. Levski, 1-0 vs. Montana and 1-2 vs. Lokomotiv Plovdiv), while now Botev will face the team with the lowest potential in the league.


Pirin is the only team in the league still without a single win since the beginning of the new season, as the guests lost eight times in the previous twelve rounds, while the other four encounters ended with draws (0-4-8 2/14).


In the matter of fact, the guests showed decent play in defense in most of their games so far this season, but the attack is obviously Achilles’ heel of this team: only two goals in the previous twelve rounds and not a single goal in the last three games against Cherno More (0-1/away), Slavia (0-0/away) and Beroe (0-1/home).

Botev excels Pirin in terms of quality of the players and experience, while home court advantage is also an important factor in such games.

 England welcome Estonia to Wembley on Friday night and really should get a convincing win. Roy Hodgson’s men are comfortably the best team in the group and are more than capable of winning all their remaining games considering the poor opposition. Qualifying for tournaments is not an issue as the pressure is off – if England slip up once then the probability is they will win the next game and still qualify. The problem comes when the pressure is on during the actual tournament and a bad result makes it difficult to progress.


Reporting for England duty will be a relief for the players, and allow them to escape from the poor performances of their clubs in the Premier League. This is an unusual situation for the players, as usually reporting for international duty seems to be a hinderance rather than something to look forward. I expect England to enjoy this match and put on a performance. Rooney should start in a central striker position and I expect a strong starting line up and a few goals. England to cover a two goal handicap is the bet that takes my eye, and I will be backing this at odds of 2.20.

The Reds begin their Europa League campaign with a tricky trip to Bordeaux and our tipster thinks the home side are decent value to claim a famous victory on Thursday night
There was misery on Merseyside at the weekend as Liverpool slumped to a dismal 3-1 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

However, Brendan Rodgers' side have a golden opportunity to lift the gloom when they travel to Bordeaux to face Willy Sagnol's side in Europa League Group B on Thursday.

This match will be played in the second round of matches in the English Conference league. It will be played at forest green's the new lawn stadium.


Forest green come into this match off of a 1-0 away win against Altrincham in the first round of matches on the weekend just gone. Striker Jon Parkin scored the winner in the 73rd minute. They played 3 pre season friendlies and got a good draw against Cardiff and a win against Bishops Cleeve. They did lose against Aston villa as well but got some good minutes in against some quality players. Last season they just missed out on promotion after reaching the play offs coming in 5th place. They were knocked out to eventual play off winners Bristol Rovers though.


Welling also started the season off with 3 points in a 1-0 home win against newly promoted Guiseley. Sahr Kabba got the winner in the 40th minute. Welling played 3 pre season friendlies and lost all of them to Ebbsfleet, Charlton and Maidstone. Welling finished last season just 1 place above the relegation zone in 20th position. It was a tough season for them but they just managed to stay in the conference.


Welling's win came against a newly promoted team that came up through the play offs in the division below. They finished 5th in the league but somehow managed to win the play offs to gain promotion. They are a team that in my opinion will probably go straight back down. I think Welling are 1 of the weakest teams in the league as shown by thier finishing position last season. Forest Green are a team that are improving season after season and just missed out on promotion last year. They will feel this year will be their season and I think it could be. The chairman that took over the club in 2010 has invested a lot of money into the club and they seem to be a club on the up. I think they will get a good win here and it should be by more than 1 goal. They are the better team that have better players and are at home. Also this fixture last season finished 4-1 to "the green" and I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar. The odds on this are dropping so get on it quick if you are going to.

 Jonkoping is the current leader of this league, and are hoping to qualified for the first league in Sweden. Of course this will motivate them here today and they will also be keen to gain their first victory since 2013 against Jonkoping.


Even though Assyriska occupied 7th position, they are not far behind Sirius which is at the play off zone as they are leading Assyriska with just five points which can be reduce to two here today incase of Assyriska win.


Both team will be playing this game for different reasons, however, due to the head to head in favor of Jonkoping and current class within each other, I will give the home side the advantage to win this game here again today to follow the trend of their last five win over Assyriska.

Stoke City vs Liverpool

 Stoke entertain Liverpool with a lot of confidence going behind them especially after the strong showing made by them on the last day of the season, when they demolished Liverpool by a score of 6-1.


Stoke have signed a good bunch of players leading up into this season that has helped them strengthen and give experience such as Glen Johnson, Joselu, Ibrahim Afellay, Sergio Molina, Shay Given, van Ginkel. They still retain a core of their players who performed well last season to help to a 9th place finish last year such as Adam, Bojan, Walters, Diouf, Ireland, Arnautovic among others who will continue delivering a strong performance for the coming season. Mark Hughes has made the Britannia Stadium some what of a fortress and had a better home record than several big teams like Swansea, West Ham, Everton, West Brom etc. Stoke are intact really good on the offensive end especially at home with only Chelsea keeping them to a clean sheet in the whole of last campaign.


Liverpool have strengthened their lineup with a bunch of attacking signings such as Firmino, Benteke, Ings, Milner as well as Clyne. Those signings help them to resolve their issue of scoring goals an creating chances while going forwards; however with lack of any new defensive signings, its still leaves them vulnerable towards conceding, much like they did when they conceded 6 at the end of the campaign.


Liverpool did not face any major opposition during their pre-season tour and despite that they conceded goals against average opposition like Swindon Town, Malayasian All Stars and Brisbane Roar. As ever Skrtel, Loveren & Mignolet should start off on the defensive end but they have showed last year that they are vulnerable especially at set pieces where Stoke City tend to grab a lot of their goals.


For this price of 1.85, it should be a relative banker for both of these teams to score in this encounter.

Accrington vs Luton

 Luton started last season well and looked to be heading for anothe promotion, but a pretty poor Xmas period followed by some awful results in the new year left them just adrift of the play offs.


They have made some excellent signings over the summer with quality players like Craig Mackail-Smith, Jack Marriott, Paddy McCourt, McQuoid and Okuonghae, who all should have a little too much quality for this league. Luton are one of the favourites this season for the play offs, in what is always a tight league. With the signings they have made they should be up there. They have had a pretty decent pre season results as well.


Accrington struggled last season and there is no reason to think that this will change last season. One of the favorites to go down and have signed no real players of note. They have had a decent pre season though, so keep the stakes small.

Brest vs Nimes

  Strange start in L2 with 7 draws and 3 away wins in first round, 6 of the draws being 0-0; maybe the teams forgot to score? I don't think so, but I must say we had one on the tough round from all 19; If I don't make a mistake this round will be the 38th - the last, and if will be something at stake at that time will be more interesting round and final of the season.


Brest remains also this year one of the promotion contender. Even they lost a lot of good players ( GK Thebeaux, Courtet, Laborde, Moimbe, Khaled, Ramare, Toure and Traore most of them playing a lot in last season) the team is quite leveled and strong enough at least in defence. They are coming after a 0-0 away at Auxerre being more dangerous than Auxerre who didn't had any real goal opportunity. Ex- Lille new signing Koubemba is suspended also Perez. They are good enough upfront and perhaps we will see goals in this round for them.


On the other side Nimes will have a difficult season. Being punished with 8 points (due to fix games scandal - remember 2 seasons ago) they are happy to play in L2 after being relegated by FFF in National, but wining at appeal with one round to go in previous season. So now they must cope with this deduction and try to survive. But in my opinion will be very very difficult to survive. Some players left the team (Parpeix, Omrani, Kovacevic, Nouri) other come but most of them from lower league or L2 relegated teams and I rate them weakened than last season.


In first round of course 0-0 at home against relegated Evian, but over all being the positive squad in the game.


Will be difficult for Pasquelletti squad against Brest, who will try to win their first game in front of their fans. I see a home win but for this competition I'll go for home win at nil. gl

Laçi finished the domestic albanian league 5th, in the top5 of the better teams, that have +30 points difference with the 6th classified. Last season received 19 goals in 36 games, only 8 at home. On the other hand, Inter Baku is for sure the more talented side that scores a lot of goals, but far from home is a bit different team. Last season was at the bottom of the scored/received goals teams away, drewing a lot of games.


In this round we have a team that avaraged 1.81 goals last season in his games an other team than avaraged 2.34 goals per game. To compare these two teams, I could take the reference of Skenderbeu Korçe, the Albanian champion, that is better team than Laçi, but Laçi fight very well the games between them. So, Skenderbeu drew 0-0 and 1-1 against BATE last season in UCL, and BATE is better team than Inter Baku and in July belarus teams are fit of form, so I think Laçi double chance @2 with small stakes and under2.5 @2.25 are good options here.


Laçi struggled in european competitions the last 2 years, for this reason I prefer the under instead DC. Inter Baku had narrow games against best teams in Azerbaijan as Qarabaq or Qabala/Neftçi, so I don't expect a big win here for guests.

Flora vs Rabotnicki

Flora Tallin bounced back to positive results just when it was needed the most – just in time for Europa League qualifiers. Unlike with many other European countries, their domestic league is still playing only with a small pause for Flora – as the team didn’t have competitive matches from 5th till 27th May.

However, they used that break to play a friendly match against Norrkoping but suffered 1:0 defeat, while the team bounced back in domestic league with a victory over Sillamae Kalev away from home 2:1 last Saturday evening. Logua in first halftime and Alliku in second were the goalscorers, while the hosts only reduced the deficit in the last moment of the match. After this victory, Flora remained second at the table with a point less than first placed Levadia. Atmosphere can’t be that great in the team, as they had previous two defeats in a row in league and dropped from the first position. As for the playing roster, they have only three foreign players, striker Irakli Logua, offensive midfielder Zakaria Beglarishvili, both from Georgia and Finnish Sakari TUkiainen.



Rabotnicki, on the other side, will once again look to impress in European competitions, as they mostly did in previous years. Their season has finished more than a month ago, with the team taking the second position, just three points below the champions from Vardar. Surely that they will start the new season with ambition to get the title this time as well.

The team had some really solid preparations this time, including three victories over Croatian and Slovenian opponents. They won over Celje 1:0, Inter Zapresic 1:0 and RNK Split 2:1, showing clearly that the team is in a good shape and will be as ready as possible for the enouncter in the first round. Team is made mostly from domestic players, but they do have couple of Ex-Yugoslavian players, as well as forward Chuma Anene who came last season from Ullensaker/Kisa. Talented defender Darko Velkovski moved to Vardar, but the team managed to retain striker Baze Ilijoski who is anyway one of the strongest parts of the team.

Rabotnicki looks quite serious every year in this period and honestly, they looked once again quite impressive in friendly matches. Flora has just lost the leading position in their domestic league and probably isn’t that much focused on Europa League. In any way, Rabotnicki is a favorite for me in this qualifying pair and I believe their their chances to suffer defeat here are really minimal.

 Round 7th in Brazil Serie A and I'll go again with under 1.5 in Corinthians' games


Corinthians put an end to serie of 3 games without a win after beating away at new comer Joinville . Jadson scoring the single goal of the game in 31st minutes. Were a game with only 4 shoots on goal on each side, not a spectacular one. So, Corinthians have already 4 out of 6 under 1.5 this season. I don't expect too much from this game also despite Inter have some important names missing here. For Corinthians Elias still missing being at NT while Henrique seems to be fresh injured (can't access their site yet)


Internacional lost first away game of the season but are now in a series of 5 games without defeat: 2 wins and 3 draws. Away they took only 2 points thanks due to 2 draws 1-1. So far they have 2 games under 1.5, while other 3 with 2 goals scored. Some problems for this game as Anderson and Lopez are suspended, Valdivia and Vitinho are slight injured but will miss. Also another 2 important players Sasha and D'Alessandro are recovering after injuries, But must notice that those two played only in Libertadores so far. So, expect Internacional to field in attack Nilmar and Lopez who scored so far only 2 goals together


So once again under 1.5 goal; for sure under 2ah is better but the odds is low. gl

Dundalk come into this match on the back of their first league loss of the season. They were defeated 2-1 by Bohemians at Oriel Park, however, the home side seemed to be the much better side over the 90 minutes. I guess sometimes things just don't go your way.


Dundalk will be keen to get back to winning after after spoiling their 8 match winning run, conceding just 2 goals and will be hoping to keep their comfortable advantage going into the mid-season break.


Team news: Defender Paddy Barrett will be suspended after being sent off against Bohs but Dane Massey will be fit as is Brian Gartland, Stephen O’Donnell & Darren Meenan.

Real Madrid vs Valencia

Real Madrid comes from a 2:1 defeat against Juventus in semifinals of Champions League away from home in the first leg, as the team now needs a victory in the returning leg in order to clinch the grand finale, most probably to take a victory with two goals difference. They tried to impose their style during the match, but were surprised with how the hosts were concrete during the match.

At the same time, Real comes from a 3:2 victory away to Sevilla last weekend, with Cristiano Ronaldo being the star of the night with all three goals scored. They already had 3:1 lead since 68th minute when the Portuguese completed his hat-trick, while their performance fell significantly from then on, probably trying to save energy for the next Champions League game. Anyhow, the team remained second at the table, having two points less than Barca, three rounds till the end. Coach declared long time ago that he won’t rest any player, as the team continues with Sergio Ramos next to Pepe, after the first one played as midfielder. Striker Benzema has overcame his injury and will be included, with the hosts missing midfielder Luka Modric (16/1), as their only injury trouble.


Valencia, on the other side, comes from a 3:1 victory over Eibar last weekend. They were completely dominant and far more superior from the start of the game, with Otamendi scoring the opened in 25th, Parejo doubled up the lead at the start of second half. Paco scored the third in 71st, while the visitors only reduced the deficit in 84th via Arruabarrena.

With this result, team of Nuno Espirito Santo returned to winning ways and are now three points ahead of Sevilla since their closest followers have lost to their’s tonight opponent, being just a bit more relaxed in Champions League battle for fourth position. Each match remains a finale for them as the coach said, as they continue to be in a situation where the team must look for a positive result even when going to Santiago Bernabeu. Offensive midfielder Rodrigo Moreno Machado (31/3) is suspended for this game, while Paco Alcacer should start upfront after performing well against Eibar. Guests should be lined up in quite offensive 4-3-3 formation.


Open game is expected here in every sense. Real obviously have some problems in midfield without Luka Modric, while Valencia comes here in order to impose rhythm as well. Visitors won’t be satisfied fully with a point only since they are in tough situation as well and the game simply has to be attacking on both sides. My choices stand with both teams scoring and over goals. Line is a bit higher, but the home side is capable of scoring four by themselves in most of the matches this season.
